Gratitude Needs Action

Once upon a time…
I was teaching high school English, pouring everything I had into my students but feeling like my own career was stuck on repeat.

Every day…
I followed the same routine: lesson plans, grading papers, and hoping the next year would feel different. But deep down, I knew I was capable of more—I just didn’t know what that “more” looked like.

Until one day…
I realized that if I didn’t make a bold change, nothing in my life was going to change.

Because of that…
I started asking myself hard questions: What do I want? What skills do I have? And the biggest one—What’s holding me back?

Because of that…
I stopped blaming my situation on external factors. I owned my circumstances, started building a career portfolio, and applied to jobs that scared me.

Because of that…
I landed a global role at Amazon Web Services—a world I never imagined myself stepping into.

Until finally…
I realized that all the skills I’d developed in teaching—communication, adaptability, problem-solving—weren’t just transferable; they were valuable. And the only person who needed convincing of that was me.

And ever since that day…
I’ve been helping others own their shit, take bold steps, and translate what they already have into career opportunities. Because here’s the truth: gratitude is important, but action is what transforms your life.

Happy Thanksgiving.
